What happens when 101 teenagers are given an empty warehouse and asked to build a world?
This summer, 101 high school students will transform an empty 50,000-square-foot warehouse into a living town populated by characters with their own histories, ambitions, relationships, and routines. Once the town comes alive, they’ll make a film within it.
What began as a a prompt to build a backdrop for a film has ballooned into the construction of a small universe, one where eventually a film will be shot.
But only once the town comes alive. Only then will the cameras roll.
Guided by Oscar nominees, Emmy winners, Sundance filmmakers, and master builders, this project will straddle the line between immersive theater, experimental film, performance art and The Sims.
